The Piper

The Piper is a lively independent pub and grassroots music venue on Norman Road in the heart of St Leonards. Reopened in 2019, it has become an important part of the local music scene, bringing touring artists, emerging bands and regular grassroots events to the town.

Downstairs is a welcoming public bar, while the dedicated upstairs performance space has a raised stage, professional sound system and a standing capacity of around 200. With a programme that leans towards rock ’n’ roll, alternative music and contemporary culture, The Piper has the feel of a proper small music venue: informal, energetic and closely connected to the character of St Leonards.
